GAM Agar
Gifu Anaerobic Medium Agar – Packaging: 300g
GAM Agar was developed by the Gifu University Medical School (Japan) to isolate and culture anaerobic bacteria from clinical samples.
It can also be used for antibiotic sensitivity tests (other than sulphonamide drugs).

This medium is supplemented with defibrinated blood. Clostridium Welchii (perfringens) form colonies with bright surface and a haemolytic ring.
When the colonies are exposed to air, they will turn green.

BL Agar allows the growth of anaerobic bacteria, especially lactobacilli, and enables differentiation of bacteria with characteristic colonies morphology.
Bifidobacterium generally forms smooth and brown or dark brown colonies. Some enteric bacteria form red colonies
